Data metrics for research: A pilot study

PLOS and partners are looking to develop a way for researchers to track the impact of their data. Rather than just citing research papers and impact factors, researchers would have another measure of how their work is influencing the world. After all, there would be no research without data.

This is an innovative idea with potential to influence all areas of science and medical research. But it’s early days. Read more and contribute your opinion to the project here.
